Training Description
This training provides learners with a practical understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and financial reporting processes used in the workplace. It covers how to analyze common financial transactions, identify their effects on assets, liabilities, equity, income, and expenses, and apply the basic accounting equation and debit-and-credit concepts to realistic workplace situations. Learners will also explore how transactions are traced from source documents to journals, ledgers, accounting records, and the trial balance, while developing the ability to identify common recording, classification, and documentation errors.
The training also develops learners’ ability to understand, review, and interpret basic financial statements, including the Statement of Financial Position, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement. Through practical examples and sample financial statements, learners will examine financial performance, cash position, obligations, operational results, and potential discrepancies or areas requiring attention. The training further demonstrates how accounting information can support workplace budgeting, planning, monitoring, and informed financial decision-making.
